Should I Watch Tensei shitara Ken deshita?

For fans of the fantasy and action genres, Tensei shitara Ken deshita, or Reincarnated as a Sword is a worthwhile anime to watch.

The plot follows a man who gets reincarnated into a fantasy world as an overpowered sword...kinda obvious, as he searches for a wielder who will be able to make the most of him. He then meets his cute neko mimi wielder and turned her overpowered as well.

This anime's original premise is definitely noteworthy, the thought-provoking notion of reincarnating as a sword, which is also a sentient entity, is intriguing. However, it might not be appealing to everyone.

The execution is not always reliable. Reincarnated as a Sword has its funny and exciting moments, but they're mostly nothing new. With the main character fighting monsters and leveling up, the plot development feels like it could have come straight out of an RPG game.

The world-building in this anime was fairly good. There were a fair bit of lore, though most of the events were inside dungeons or outside in the wilderness.

Reincarnated as a Sword's animation is passable; it's got some striking scenes, but wasn't consistently good. The character designs are relatively decent and the environments were okay overall. And the sounds weren't particularly memorable too, despite being quite fitting.

Overall, Reincarnated as a Sword had its high and low points. The world-building and original premise were notable, unfortunately the execution wasn't always up to par. If you enjoy fantasy, action, and OP isekai, then this anime can be worth watching, but probably don't anticipate a masterpiece.
